“Talent is daring, with a free mind, [and] borderless ideas.” – Anton Tchekhov.
SICAA is the personal project of 28 years old French Music Producer Nicolas Sicard. If you’re into French Jazz, this name sounds familiar. (Nope, if you’re as curious as I think you are, you’ll have to Google this yourself!)
His musical influences have started as soon as he was 5 years old, and, as you might expect after your Google-search, he’s been hanging around studios and jam sessions even before that age.
Musical conservatory from 5 to 10 playing the clarinet, into metal & hiphop during his teenage years, he then decides to learn the guitar and bass guitar. But that wasn’t cool enough; our friend here rather felt like hitting things was a lot more fun and the right way to go. Percussions was one to add to the list, and vocals soon after to be able to jam with the lads.
It is at the glorious age of 16 that he breaks his arm while roller-skating. However painful, this is a turning point (and dare I say happy news for us?) that will launch his music producer career. Immobilized with his arm in a cast, in Paris, he starts mixing in 2003.
Drum & Bass is where his technical producing skills flourish. He decides to take his musical
passion professional with sound designer studies in College and works on different musical projects afterwards, but none of his own.
It’s in 2012 that SICAA produces his first EP “Square Things”, paying his respects to OS-Looper, a friend with whom he used to make music, who passed away too soon.
From then on, producing his something more than personal for him. It’s about extracting the essence of his feelings and echoes of his life itself. By the end of 2012, his 2nd EP “Analog: V Elements “ is out and it’s his first try at Analog. In 2013, his 3rd EP 'Space Between Worlds' that was made for the Theater play soundtrack of 'Les Enfants Du Macadam'. In 2014, he signs a track (‘We Till Late’) with Unog and then produces an alternative track for the French collective ‘Chateau Bruyant’.
We’re very happy to present SICAA’s EP “The Source” at Moose Records. This guy needs more recognition from you, his work really deserves both ears.
For 2015 his other projects are a track on the 5th compilation of Unlog, one for Highlife Recordings and a last one for Chateau Bruyant’s next compilation.
